Leonardo’s Reflection FHD video, 4-channel sound, 4 subwoofers, 14:26 min, 2022
Leonardo’s Reflection is a montaged narrative about Leonardo Da Vinci’s notes on anatomy and P.O Enquist’s novel Fallen Angel, in which Enquist describes a gastroscopy he underwent. The work is inspired by the scientific discoveries during the Renaissance, and the idea of the body as a microcosm. The sounds in the work are recorded with the help of a stethoscope and during the journey we hear Leonardo move, from throat, to heart, to the bubbling sea of the stomach – where he is finally confronted with his own reflection.
